In an interesting twist in the summer internship recruitment, students of the countrys most reputed B-school, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad made a beeline to join start-up companies during the ongoing summer placement programme.

Starting from Saturday, the summer internship recruitment process saw a clear interest amongst students to join start-up companies.

Talking to Business Standard, Devashish Chakravarty, in-charge of student placement committee, said, A number of students have shown keen interest to join the start-up companies during the summer placement programme.

Foreign placements losing their sheen for IIM-A students An increasing number of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, students are preferring to work in India overcoming the fascination to go abroad or are opting out of the placement rituals to start their own ventures. The final placements of the current batch of the IIM-A two-year post graduate programme, which completed on Monday evening, saw 124 national and international companies, 14 more than last years 110 companies, recruiting all the 224 students in the first two days after 11 opted out of the placements or rejected offers to start their own ventures.

IIM-A may start admission process in next two days

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) on Thursday indicated they might send offer of admission to students in next two days if they recieve communication from the Union HRD ministry giving a go-ahead to start admission as per last year by Friday. The IIMA welcomed the Centres decision to give a go-ahead to fill general and SC/ST category seats as per last year. We welcome the decision of the central government. Two IIM-A grads reject prime offer Two students of Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) have rejected lucrative job offer from one of the leading investment banks of the world to start their own business. Deutsche Bank has for the first time offered associate level post to six IIM-A students with a salary package of over Rs 1 crore per annum. Till now, investment banks used to offer jobs to IIM-A freshers at a level of analyst, IIM-A officials said.
