IIM grad to get Rs 10 lakh for summer job
Stipends have never been this hot. On Day One of summer placements at Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C), records tumbled as some students walked away with internship offers that will fetch them Rs 4.5 lakh a month. Internationals are higher with the maximum touching $22,000 (Rs 10 lakh).
There was more reason for cheer on the campus. At least 90 students got international offers with postings in New York, London, Singapore and Hong Kong. They were picked by 32 international firms that came recruiting on Day One — Slot Zero, in IIM parlance.
With such offers, it is hardly surprising that nearly a third of the batch accepted offers on the first day — another record.
