IIM-C alumni to help with course review

Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) is making the most of its annual alumni meet, Reminiscence 2006, to rope in its former students, now top corporate honchos, to play a role in the curriculum review the institute is undergoing. The meet also saw some Rs 24 lakh being raised by the batch of 1981 for infrastructural improvement of the institute, by way of a swimming pool.

People like Sunil Duggal, CEO, Dabur; Suresh Nanda, CEO, north and east, ING Vysya Bank and R Rama Krishna Rao, VP finance and CFO, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Canada, participated in a workshop to brainstorm on possible avenues for alumni contribution in the review process.

The alumni were divided into groups based on functionalities, with each group co-ordinated by professors of various departments. While many aspects of the current curriculum were found to be world-class, there were other aspects where a scope for improvement was felt.
