IIM admission lists formally cleared

Thousands of MBA aspirants can finally breathe a sigh of relief with the human resource development (HRD) ministry Friday issuing a directive to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) to release admission lists like in previous years.

HRD Minister Arjun Singh Friday afternoon formally issued directives to all central government funded higher educational institutes, including the six IIMs, to release the lists for general category and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe aspirants.

We are issuing the communication right now and they can go ahead with the admission process. Increased seats with OBC quota can be accommodated after May 8, Singh told reporters.

Date delay affects XLRI aspirants The decision of postponing the IIM admission dates to April 21 has taken a toll on students on the waiting list of XLRI admissions. XLRI releases two lists of selected candidates — both confirmed and those on the waiting list.
