SEVERAL STUDENTS and alumni of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) held a candle light protest against the Centres decision to introduce reservations in government-aided educational institutions. This is the first time that IIMA students have voiced their protest on the controversal reservation issue.

Vijaypat Singhania new chairman of IIM Ahmedabad Renowned aviator and Chairman Emeritus of the Raymond group Vijaypath Singhania has been appointed Chairman of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for a term of five year. Seventy-year-old Sanghania is also Sheriff of Mumbai since December 2005. Singhania replaces Narayan Murthy whose term expired on March 10.
