AFter 89.2 in CAT IIM Banglore rejected Candidate admission
With her CAT score, getting into the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore should have been a cakewalk for Vaishanavi Kasturi. But after being rejected outright, the visually impaired student is today waiting for the prestigious B-school to get back to her with its final decision.
Vaishanavi cleared the CAT with a score of 89.29 per cent, outscoring thousands of other candidates. With IIM-B setting a cut-off of 86.42 per cent for the disabled, she was certainly qualified for the next round of tests the group discussion and interview. But the call never came.
Disappointed and in need of an answer, Vaishnavi sought to know the credentials of the other students with physical disabilities who had made it. The IIM-B officials turned down her request, prompting her family to turn to the Right to Information Act.
